Gripeforce blog

December 22nd, 2005 by Terry

Salesforce.com suffered a pretty bad network outage this week. If you follow this industry, you probably have heard all about it.

Well a new blog popped up called GripeForce. It is supposedly a blog created by customers that are angry about being mistreated by Salesforce.com.

I have no problem with these types of blogs. I sort of like them because they are fun, and you can really learn how your PR efforts are being greeted by the customer base. But if you are going to gripe, throw your name on it or at least allow the reader to know that you are a real user. Right now all I see is CRMguy as a writer. Without standing up and taking credit, I am highly suspect of this site as nothing but a cheap shot by a competitor. None of the commenters are anything but anonymous. And I think everyone knows how contentious this industry is. It is well within the realm of possibility that a competitor threw this together (heck, it sounds like something Salesforce.com would have done in its No Software Days).

Now I am sorry if you are a real customer, and don’t want to get in any trouble. Please forgive my cynicism if you are.

And in no way am I commenting either way on how Salesforce.com handled the problem. I am not a customer. I don’t work for Salesforce or one of their partners. Just commenting on the blog.

By the way, my identity is on the right hand side.

Terry
