Bostonians, support social media

September 20th, 2006 by Todd Van Hoosear

Note the comma. Let’s work to remove it. The first thing you can do is make sure you sign up for the Inaugural SNCR Research Symposium / 1st Anniversary & Awards Celebration, taking place in Boston on Nov 1-2.

The SNCR, if you’re not already familiar with them, was formed to investigate, develop, share and transfer in-depth and forward-facing insights resulting from our deep ongoing study, learning, and continuous mastery of new communications tools and technologies with the academic community and industry for the promotion of best practices.

They’ve also launched the first peer-reviewed professional journal covering the social media space: the Journal of New Communications Research.

Hope to see you there!

Also, stay tuned for news of a Boston meeting of the Social Media Club. I hope today’s first meeting of the SMC-sponsored and SNCR-supported new media release working group is an indication of good things to come from that group. It was a great showing of media, PR and wire folks. More on that later too…

I’d certainly be interested in a Boston meetup of the Social Media Club, and it’d be great to focus on how it works in the business world!

I’ll be watching your blog for future announcements about it.
