Are you really sharing your photos on Flickr? Check your license
February 27th, 2007 by Doug
A post by my good friend Chris Brogan is worth spreading some more. Chris noticed, after imploring PodCamp Toronto attendees to post their photos on Flickr, that by default many of the posted photos do not allow sharing. It was a little surprising to see some of the people in the responses that weren’t aware of that (let alone my own ignorance).
Lookie, I picked a photo I liked of fave podcasters Mitch Joel and John Wall, and reproduce it here, along with the requested attribution to Bob Goyetche.
So, fanning the message: set your Creative Commons license to share photos (Chris outlines the easy process on his post), and keep sharing folks! I fixed my personal photostream.

Sharing opens up a fascinating “carry forward” effect to anything we’re doing. The Flickr photos you posted might convince someone who doesn’t know Mitch, John, or even Bob the photographer to go out and give their stuff a look-see. So, you could argue it’s further personal branding.
But in general, it’s just nice to share. : )
