More Social Media Talk — PRSA T3 PR Conference
June 20th, 2007 by Tony Sapienza
Another week, another conversation with PR folks about social media. This time, it was the PRSA T3 PR Conference in NYC and the fellow panelists were Chip Griffin of Custom Scoop, David Parmet of Marketing Begins and Home and longtime PR professor/practionner Don Bates who moderated the panel. We covered a range of topics — from blogs to podcast to video sharing — but what was most encouraging was acceptance and understanding of social media among the attendees. As reported after last week’s Bulldog Conference, it seems the PR community to clearly embracing social media — including PR veterans. The same is true of media veterans — on the train home from NYC I ran into a longtime contact, John Dodge who’s editor-in-chief at Design News. We talked blogging over beer and peanuts as we trained it through Connecticut. I even worked in a plug for the blog I developed for the Blue Shutters Beachside Inn, which my wife and I took over along with friends. All in all, a good day for those us advocating the ongoing use and development of social media in our lives.
