Thanks to all the hard work over the past three years on this blog, and thanks to all our occasional and/or loyal readers, we almost made AdAge’s Power150 list. I blame Twitter for distracting my eyes from the blogging prize and causing any slippage in the rankings–well, that and a lot of really good new blogs popping up… :-). Microblogging is so alluring–much more so than I ever thought it would be when I first saw it. Thank you to Doug Haslam for helping me see the light!

So The New York Times revealed on Sunday that Dan Lyons is the man behind the Fake Steve Jobs blog and Twitter personas. Dan Lyons, the man behind the famous “Attack of the blogs” Forbes cover story in November, 2005.
The true test of the power of blogs will be how quickly his name becomes mud–whether he ends up flipping burgers, riding his infamy to new journalistic lows, or continuing to drive Forbes into tabloid territory.
Forbes, prepare to see the last two subscriptions from the blogerati disappear–but what else will happen? I can’t wait to find out.
