I had an opportunity last Friday to speak with Dave Fionda, Chief Learning Officer for Candeos, a company that specializes in collaborative learning technologies. He’s launching a podcast on the evolution of training, and I was fortunate to be his first guest.
We focused our conversation on social networking: what it is and how it’s different that traditional networking. We compated social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook and LinkedIn–and contrasted with other related technologies and environments like Second Life. It was a fun and hopefully interesting conversation, especially for folks who get LinkedIn, but who may still be trying to get a grasp on why they should care about Facebook or Second Life.
Please visit his blog and have a listen to his podcast when you have a chance.

The Social Media Club kicked off its own Blog Talk Radio show last week with a great interview with Robert Scoble. The first show, hosted by Mike McGrath, focused on authenticity, credibility and authority in social media. It featured Social Media Club founder Chris Heuer and a bunch of other bloggers who called in, including yours truly.
Chris and the club are hoping to repeat this on a regular basis, with a rotating list of hosts. This week’s program, prompted by the Office 2.0 conference going on right now, aired earlier today and focused on social media in the enterprise and an interview with David Carter, founder of Awareness.
Chris is hoping to make these shows happen twice a week, so stay tuned to the Social Media Club and Blog Talk Radio sites for updates. I plan on hosting a show in the next couple of weeks (and would love ideas for guests). Talk to you then, if not before!
