On the AP discussion, I think one of the main difficulties for the AP is that they don’t have a “main site” (or if they do, it’s not that popular) where they can demand that people link back to, because all of their clients are news organizations that are putting the AP content on their own sites. Of course, they could try and get these blogging sites to sign up for AP content, but I think that’s already out of the bag when you consider what blogging has done in terms of content. Tough call on both sides.
