CSR in a social media world
October 3rd, 2008 by Todd Van Hoosear
On October 15th, as the New Marketing Summit wraps up, the Social Media Club Boston will convene its session on corporate social responsibility in a social media world.
In the past, corporate responsibility meant giving money to local charities, or more recently, publishing glossy annual reports on corporate social responsibility initiatives. With the advent of social media, the bar has been raised. Now consumers and other stakeholders are speaking online about a variety of health, environmental and energy icvssdfssues that affect their lives and their communities. Corporations need to use social media to listen and engage in these conversations that impact corporate reputation and shareholder value. Join us for a panel discussion on how companies are using the internet social media to interact with their constituencies and build stronger relationships.
Speaking of using social media responsibly to implement change, there are just a couple tickets left for Boston’s Social Media for Social Change (SM4SC) event on the 10th–it promises to be a great event!
