About Paul
- I have been working in public relations and account service for over 17 years, mostly in the high-tech, IT and industrial B2B space. In that time, I have done just about everything there is - not including IR - for a broad range of high-technology, software, hardware and industrial B2B clients. I got my start in this field doing media relations for the United States Army at Fort Lewis, Washington, and as a part of Operation Restore Hope in Somalia, were I worked on crisis communications with national and international media. (Before all that, I was a Field Artillery officer - leaving active duty in 1994 as Captain, Senior Rated, Jumpmaster qualified, paratrooper, Public Affairs Officer Course honor graduate, Tacfire qualified, NBC certified, and a whole bunch more that if I told you, I'd have to...never mind :-)
I have also worked on the advertising agency side, in account service roles involving integration of the marketing communications mix including planning, public relations, brand-supporting activity, advertising campaign development, collateral creation, direct response campaigns, copy writing, video development, photo shoot coordination, print and online media placement and negotiation, as well as day-to-day interface between the client and the creative department.
When I am not at work, I can be found fishing (freshwater, bass, not trout), golfing (sub-100 for 18 - a hacker by most accounts) or with friends have a few shots and beers, belting out karaoke songs.
